Comprehensive Ecology
"2025 promises to be an “annus mirabilis” in the life of the Church. With a global Jubilee, the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si’ and of Laudato Si’ Movement, the 800th anniversary of the Canticle of the Creatures, and a momentous UN conference on climate change, this is a year for change.
Without doubt, 2025 will be a grand adventure. Join us for these key moments along the journey."

In the context of the Jubilee of 2025, the Catholic Church is launching an innovative environmental education initiative: the Borgo Laudato Si'. Located in the Pontifical Gardens of Castel Gandolfo (the former summer residence of the Popes, near Rome), this programme was conceived by Pope Francis to put into practice the principles of the Laudato Si' encyclical and to promote genuine education in integral ecology among the faithful and visitors alike. Open to all, the Borgo Laudato Si' offers an immersive experience of connecting with nature and learning, bringing together spirituality, environmental care, and social inclusion.
The Papal Encyclical Laudato Si' is a document published by Pope Francis in 2015 that addresses urgent environmental and social issues. In this letter, the Pope calls for the protection of the environment and warns of the impacts of climate change and environmental destruction on people's lives and biodiversity.
This letter emphasises the moral responsibility of all people to care for God's creation, which includes concern for social and economic justice.
It also warns of the interconnection between environmental degradation and social injustice and encourages concrete actions in favour of sustainability and care for the ‘common home’.
In addition to being the CEO and Mentor of REVE, Cristina is an Animator of the Laudato Si' Movement.
The Laudato Si' Movement is an initiative inspired by the papal encyclical, aimed at promoting awareness and ecological conversion while addressing the environmental, moral, and social challenges outlined in the document.
The activities promoted by the Movement range from environmental education, the promotion of simpler and more sustainable lifestyles, and the defence of the rights of indigenous peoples and communities affected by environmental exploitation, to climate justice initiatives.

Season of Creation 2024.
Eight years after the publication of the encyclical letter Laudato Si', His Holiness Pope Francis acknowledges that we are still not responding adequately. The world that shelters us continues to deteriorate and is likely approaching a breaking point.
Regardless of this possibility, there is no doubt that the impact of climate change will increasingly jeopardise the lives of both people and wildlife. Everyone will feel its effects in terms of health, employment, access to resources, housing, forced migration, and various other aspects.
Laudate Deum is the title of the latest Papal letter on the climate crisis.
By adopting a holistic, inclusive approach centred on integrated ecology and organising educational activities with the community, Vale da Esteva promotes ethical and responsible awareness of the environment, people, and wildlife, and is thus in line with the principles of integrated ecological conversion outlined in the Papal Letter.
